Such a sunny afternoon

Hello everyone, as I told you in my last post, I am trying to get back on the blog. This is not always easy with my little one, but I am trying to use the quiet moments where she is sleeping or resting. We had such a great day on Friday and Ella and I spent a long time outside with the pram, enjoying the sun! I had taken my camera with me, so here are a couple of impressions of my lovely Hamburg under the sun. Autumn is definitely my favorite season! I love the colours - and when the sun is shining on the orange, yellow and red leaves, it is just magical!

Oh, by the way, I have been working on my blog layout. It is still a work in progress, I hope that you like it. I would love to hear your thoughts!

Talk to you soon Elodie autumn_5

2 flower girls #7 - The dahlia edition

Hello everyone, this is my first blogpost today since the birth of my daughter Ella three weeks ago. Inga and I are back with this autumnal edition of #2flowergirls. We chose the most autumnal of all flowers, the dahlia. I chose some deep red and orange ones, I found on my local market. I added some guelder rose berries and some rose hips to the bouquet and displayed some decorative pumpkins on the table to give it a more rustic aspect. Today's #2flowergirls will be on madame love only, but I will show you one of Inga's photos.

If you want to participate, you can post a link to your blogpost in the comment field under this post  and show us how you styled and photographed your dahlias. You can also send us the photos by e-mail or post them on Instagram or Twitter along with the #2flowergirls hashtag. We will then collect the photos and post them on our Dahlia's board on Pinterest.

I also made two small bouquets to please my dear Inga! The red one in the stem vase is called cactus-dahlia

and here is the glomerylane mini bouquet. Inga and I didn't talk about the the flowers before, but we really went for the same colours this time.

We are both looking forward to seeing your beautiful dahlias. We wish you a wonderful day.

City Life

Hello everyone,I fell in love with a book two weeks ago. It is called "Still life photography" by Kevin Best. I read it on my kindle and when I finished it, the first thing I did was to write an e-mail to Kevin, asking me if I could interview him for my blog and he said yes straight away. I am so excited - it will be my first interview ever! In the meantime, here are a couple of shots of a modern interpretation of a still life called "City Life" in which I tried to apply the advice from Kevin. I hope you will like them! You can see more pictures of the shooting on madame love's Facebook Page.

Talk to you soon.

lovely still life #1

Still life photography is the depiction of inanimate subject matter, most typically a small grouping of objects. Still life photography, gives the photographer more leeway in the arrangement of design elements within a composition. This is the definition given by Wikipedia. In this series of photos, I only used ornamental apples, in a Japanese bowl I received as a gift for my engagement from my dear friend Fabienne. This is a first try, but this is the kind of photography I enjoy, I hope you like it too!

I found the little black stand at the hello handmade market  on Sunday in Hamburg. It is from the label 3PUNKTF. I visited the market with my Hamburg blogger crew: the lovely Clara from tastesheriff, Susanne from Serendipity and  Maria from villa ♥ stoff - and came without my camera, but all I was thinking about was my blog! and I found some pretty cool props for my photo shootings!

Last September bouquet - a musical post

Dear friends and readers, I wanted to share a song with you from this new band, we discovered lately with Mr. Love. This Australian singing duo is called "The Jane Austen argument" and the song is called under the rainbow: [soundcloud url="http://api.soundcloud.com/tracks/20678398" iframe="true" /]

So I suggest, you listen to this beautiful song while having a look at my new flower composition. I wish you all a great week-end! PS: the lovely little vase with the stars is not vintage, it is from the lovely Danish label Miss étoile .
