Etsy Labs Hamburg with Frau Sieben

Hello everyone, On Monday Evening, I attended my first Etsy Labs in Hamburg which was organised by my friend Trixi (alias Frau Sieben), a jewelry designer . I am sure you all know about Etsy - for those would don't know, it's an american online platform that sells handmade and vintage goods all over the world. They regularly organise craft parties in European cities called Etsy Labs - It's a free DIY event, on a special topic. The ones in Hamburg are organised in a brilliant location called LOKAL e.v.. The concept is simple but really enjoyable - you sit around a table with other people (okay, mainly girls...) and do something with your hands, while drinking a lemonade.  Yesterday's Etsy Labs was about creating summery bracelets - and that's what we did! I had a lot of fun with my friends Maria, Christin and Anne. Here are a couple of photos for you:

My fake christmas tree

Hello everyone, This year my family are coming to Hamburg to celebrate Christmas and we are going to buy a proper Christmas tree on 24th December. In the meantime, I made myself my own fake Christmas tree, with some white branches and home-made ornaments.I used some German polymer clay called Fimo, with some organza ribbons. To personalise them, I used a Love stamp from the German designer bastisRIKE and the letters are from Muji. I decided to have a Christmas decoration all in black & white this year. It's very much like Coco Chanel!

Next week I am on holiday and I am so looking forward to it! I will take some time to prepare the celebration with my family and spend more time on the blog, working on future projects for 2013. So there you go, here are a couple of pictures of my fake, temporary Christmas tree. You can see more photos on my Facebook page. Next week I will be doing some more ornaments, but this time in black.

What about you? Which colours are you using for your christmas decoration? Have you got a proper tree?

Speak to to you soon. xxx Elodie

My new reversible blue bag

Here is my new pretty home-made project with some beautiful fabric I brought back from my stay in Lyon.I know it is not very seasonal and I need to wait for some good weather to wear it: means no rain...which happens sometimes in Hamburg! but it was so easy and quick to make: It jus took me one evening after work and I love the fabric.  I hope you had a good week so far. Talk to you soon.

Mexican flowers with DIY vases

When I see bright green, pink or yellow, that always reminds me of mexican paintings, of Diego Rivera and Frida Kahlo.I have loved the Arizona Green Tea bottles for ages, so when I discovered the paloma lemonade can at my local supermarket, I had the idea of this colorful flower arrangement - the mexican way - and why not listening to some Mexican music, while reading this post?
